MEET RESULTS
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's swimming and diving team put up a dominant performance in its return to the pool, defeating Bard by a 118-51 margin at the Williamson Sports Center Wednesday night.
Skidmore made quick work of an undermanned Bard team in their first meet in over a month. The relay teams picked up first-place points for the Thoroughbreds early and late, with the 200-yard medley relay team of
Nick Meconiates,
Hiro Kamei,
Ryan Cohen, and
Carmine Raimondi finishing in 1:48.11, and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Cohen,
Lucas Po,
Owen Kula, and
Kyle Hughson finishing in 1:42.22.
In the individual events, Po picked up a pair of victories, winning by a wide margin in the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.86), and by a slimmer margin in the 200-yard IM (2:12.86).
Kyle Hughson picked up a victory in the 200-yard freestyle by a narrow margin, holding off a late Bard charge to finish in 1:58.51. Cohen posted a sub-minute time in the 100-yard butterfly, swimming in 57.73. Raimondi earned a victory in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.73. Kamei won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.13), while finishing second by the narrowest of margins in the 50-yard freestyle (22.96). Kula shaved off nearly 30 seconds from his fall time, finishing second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:32.12).
On the boards,
Andrew Klein won both events, earning 207.30 points at 3-meters and 181.50 points at 1-meter.
With the team victory, Skidmore improves to 4-2 on the season, winning four dual events for the second time in three years. Bard falls to 0-5 overall. The Thoroughbreds will head to Troy this Saturday to compete in the RPI Invite, with action beginning at noon.
