TROY, N.Y. – Senior forward
Taylor Ong of the Skidmore College women's basketball team earned a spot on the Liberty League's Honor Roll for the second consecutive week, as the league announced its weekly winners on Monday, Jan. 14.
Ong was a force in the paint for the Thoroughbreds, who split a pair of games last weekend. The co-captain pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds, adding 16 points, two steals and a blocked shot against then 25
th-ranked RIT on Friday. She grabbed eight rebounds on Saturday against William Smith, adding four points and one steal.
Over the last four games, Ong has averaged 11.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. She currently leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 boards per game and is third in scoring at 7.1 points per game.
Skidmore (4-10, 3-4 Liberty League) kept pace in the league standings after a weekend split. The Thoroughbreds defeated RIT by a 59-56 score on Friday and fell to William Smith by a 71-47 score on Saturday. Skidmore has a busy week ahead, traveling to Vassar on Tuesday at 5 p.m., before returning home for Bard on Friday (5 p.m.) and Ithaca on Saturday (2 p.m.).
