Live stats, and live-streaming
audio and
video are available for the match in Geneva, N.Y.
After dropping its first match of the season in a heartbreaking fashion, the Thoroughbreds have rallied to remain unbeaten in its next six matches, going 4-0-2. Defense has been the calling card during the streak, with four shutouts, including three straight coming into the weekend.
Junior
Sebastian Bosch has been especially impressive, holding a scoreless streak of 292:26 minutes over the last four contests. For the season, Bosch is third in the Liberty League with a 0.67 goals against average and an .844 save percentage. He is also tied for the league lead with four clean sheets. The Skidmore back line, consisting of seniors
Ben Poole and
Robbie Heumann, along with junior
Will Greening and sophomores
Shaun Franz and
Josh Ridenhour, have done a solid job of turning away opponents on the back end.
Offensively, Skidmore has come alive with six goals in its last two games. The Thoroughbreds tallied two in the Liberty League-opening victory against Union last Friday, following that up with four goals in a mid-week victory at MCLA. 11 Thoroughbreds have tallied at least a point this season, with juniors
Alex Ricci and
Kyle Barrett, and sophomore
Shoyo Yanagihara leading the way with two goals apiece. Senior
Ben Caples leads the team with two assists.
Hobart, defending Liberty League champions, come into the weekend with a surprising 1-4-1 record. The Statesmen have faced a difficult schedule thus far, with one-goal losses to ranked Rochester and SUNY Cortland, along with an unlucky result at Geneseo.
Mouhamed Diouf leads the Statesmen with two goals, with Pete Critchlow and Alex Weisbein also adding one goal apiece. Alec Kaminer is in his third season as a full-time starter in net for Hobart. He currently sports a 0.96 goals against average and an .829 save percentage.
Last season's contest was a physical one, as both teams battled to a 1-1 draw in Saratoga Springs back on Sept. 23. Skidmore has held a 4-0-3 advantage in the last seven contests of the all-time series, which includes a victory in penalty kicks in the Liberty League semifinal in 2015.
