SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— A Saturday spilt gave the Skidmore College volleyball team a 3-1 record in the Union Invitational.
The 8-4 Thoroughbreds cruised past 3-8 Plattsburgh 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-17) then lost to 8-2 Wentworth 3-1 (25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 25-17).
Skidmore opens Liberty League play on Sept. 21 at Vassar College in a 6 p.m. match, returning to Saratoga for its first home match of the season on Sept. 22 at 4
p.m. vs. Bard.
Katy Ehnstrom earned a spot on the all-tournament team. She had three blocks and seven kills against Plattsburgh and 11 kills and four aces vs. WIT.
In the Plattsburgh match,
Caite Canfield had 10 kills, two aces, three blocls and five digs.
Sophia Hettler contributed four aces and 13 digs.
Lauren Wolters had 17 assists.
Canfield came back to post 18 kills against Wentworth. Wolters had four aces, nine digs and 27 assists.
