Thoroughbreds fall to #1 RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Top ranked Rochester Institute of Technology jumped out to an 8-1 lead on the way to an 18-8 Liberty League men's lacrosse win Saturday afternoon.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 5-8 overall and 1-5 in league play, while the Tigers remain unbeaten at 14-0 and 6-0.
 
Jason Shlonsky led Skidmore with four goals. Alex Miller had a goal, assist, three ground balls and a caused turnover. Will Lukas and a goal and an assist, while Brendan Halloran and RJ Caruso added single goals.
 
Kyle Killen led the Tigers with six goals and six ground balls.
 
Skidmore used three goalies. Dylan Fleishmann played 30 minutes, with 11 saves and 13 goals allowed. Chris Baughan had two saves and four goals over 20:30, while Tim Rahill allowed one goal with two saves over the final 9:30.
 
RIT had a 49-20 shot and 46-18 ground ball advantage. The Tigers won 23 of 28 face offs.
 
Skidmore hosts Farmingdale State on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
