FT. MYERS, Fla.—The Skidmore College baseball team was held to three hits in an 11-3 loss to Alfred State Friday in Florida.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 3-4 and will close out the spring trip with a pair of games March 17 against Newbury College.
 
Alfred (2-11) built a 5-0 lead through six innings, before 
Shawn Klier hit a deep two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to cut it to 5-2. The Pioneers responded with three in the seventh and another three in the eighth on the way to the 11-3 final.
 
In addition to Klier, 
Hayden Smith and 
Matt Chipkin were 1-3. 
Sam Browning drove in a run with a sac fly.
 
Spencer Anderson took the loss. He allowed five runs (four earned) in six innings of work.
