FT. MYERS, Fla.—The Skidmore College baseball team is 3-2 after a going 1-1 with SUNY Plattsburgh Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Thoroughbreds won the first game 6-5 and dropped the second 6-5.
 
In the first game, 
Will Potter keyed a four-run fourth inning with a two-run single to give the Thoroughbreds a 5-2 lead. The Cardinals tied it with two in the fifth and a single run in the sixth.
 
Skidmore went ahead in the bottom of the sixth when Potter doubled home pinch runner 
Matt Chipkin.  
Andrew Aikins came on for the save in the seventh, striking out one.
 
Potter was 2-4 with three RBI. 
Jake Hardy went 3-3 and 
Mike Fogarty and 
Nate Scheinman were both 1-3 with an RBI. 
Jonathan Kaiser earned the win in relief. Starter 
Sam Beck went five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.
 
Plattsburgh scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh to claim the second game.
 
Skidmore built a 5-1 lead sparked by five stolen bases and a 2-2 game by an RBI double and RBI single by 
Zach Bunker.  
Spencer Meyer went 6.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits. He walked three and struck out three in a no decision. Chris Reenstierna took the loss in relief, allowing a pair of unearned runs on two hits.
 
The Thoroughbreds are back in action March 15 against St. Michael's College in a 9 am start.
