FT. MYERS, Fla.—
Matt Chipkin homered and doubled to lead the Skidmore College baseball team to a 15-6 win over Wilmington College Monday afternoon in Florida.

The Thoroughbreds move to 2-1 and will take a day off before Wednesday's doubleheader against SUNY Plattsburgh.

Up 6-2, Skidmore scored five in the top of the fifth to open up an 11-2 lead. Freshman
Jake Hardy had a solo homer in the fifth before Chipkin drilled a three-run shot.

Wilmington got three back in the bottom of the fifth and one more in the seventh to cut it to 11-6, but Skidmore tacked on four runs in the top of the ninth behind
Will Potter's  three-run single for the 15-6 final.

Potter finished 2-4 with four RBI.
Nate Scheinman was 3-5 with two runs and Pat Geiger went 2-6 with two RBI. Sean Klier and Hardy finished with two hits and an RBI each.

Tim Allen got the win. He went 2.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
Andrew Aikins closed the game with two innings of scoreless relief, striking out five.
