MEET RESULTS
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College men's swimming and diving team dropped its home opener to Union, falling by a 156-66 score, in Liberty League dual action at the Williamson Sports Center Saturday afternoon.
Skidmore falls to 2-2 with the loss, while Union improves to 1-0.
Harrison Shockey led the Thoroughbreds with a victory in the 200-yard backstroke. He touched first in a time of 2:04.71. He also touched second in the 50-yard freestyle by a narrow margin (23.32).
Andrew Klein led the Thoroughbreds on the boards, finishing second in both the 1-meter (202.89) and 3-meter (188.78) events.
Lucas Po finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.67) and added a third-place effort in the 200-yard freestyle (1:56.76). Other notable finishes include a third place effort by
Daryl Kwan in the 100-yard freestyle (53.71) and two third-place finishes by
Ryan Cohen in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.09) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.21).
In the relay events, the 400-yard medley relay team of
Kinser Bonner, Po,
Carmine Raimondi, and
Carl Mellqvist finished in second with a time of 4:01.25. In the men's 200-yard freestyle relay, Shockley, Klein, Cohen, and
Nick Meconiates finished with a time of 1:35.63.
The Thoroughbreds will host Utica in its next meet, next Saturday at 1 p.m.
