BROOKLYN, N.Y.—The Skidmore College baseball team lost a pair of one-run games, 4-3 (11 innings) and 2-1 to New York University Saturday at MCU Park.

The Thoroughbreds (13-25) and Violets (20-21) will close out the season tomorrow with a single game at 12 p.m.

GAME 1
C.J. Picerni hit a 3-2, two-out pitch through the right side to score pinch runner. Â Brian Griffo in the bottom of the 11th to win the game for NYU.

Steven Gilbert was 1-5 with a two-run double for Skidmore.
Nick Fronte was 2-4.
Ben Murphy started and went seven innings. He allowed three runs on five hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Jacob Berish (1-2) took the loss in relief. He went 2.2, allowing one run on three hits, with no walks and two strikeouts.

GAME 2
NYU scored two runs in the first that held up in the 2-1 win.

Shankar Mani, and
Shawn Klier all doubled for the Thoroughbreds. Skidmore's lone run came on a Clarke sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Andrew Aikins (4-4) was tagged with the hard luck loss. He allowed two runs on two hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. He held NYU scoreless and hitless after the first inning.
