Ben Murphy tossed a complete game, five-hit shutout to lead the Skidmore College baseball team to a 4-0 win in the first game of a Sunday Liberty League doubleheader over Bard. The Raptors came back to win the series final 9-2.

The Thoroughbreds are 13-23 overall and finish the Liberty League schedule at 8-16. Bard is 10-27 and 5-15. Skidmore will close out the season next weekend with three games at N YU.

GAME 1
Murphy (2-0) powered through the Bard lineup in just his second start of the season. He hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 17 innings.

The Thoroughbreds scored a pair of runs in the fourth and two in the seventh.
Steven Gilbert had an RBI triple in the seventh and scored on a wild pitch. Â

Gilbert finished 2-4.
Chris Lorenz was 1-3 with a triple and
Mike LaVita was 1-3 with an RBI.

GAME 2
Bard took advantage of five Skidmore errors to score six unearned runs in the 9-3 win.
Jeb Clarke was 1-3 with a double and scored both of his team's runs.
Jack Walter had a pinch hit single.

Jacob Berish (1-1) was tagged with the loss. He allowed two unearned runs in four innings, walking five and striking out three.
