SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—
Josh Brown continued his torrid hitting pace, going 3-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI to lead the Skidmore College baseball team to a 9-3 win over St. Lawrence in the first game of a Liberty League doubleheader. The Saints scored three unearned runs in the ninth to win game 2, Â 5-3.

The Thoroughbreds are 9-15 and 4-10 in league play. The Saints are 8-15 and 6-8. The teams conclude the weekend series on Sunday at 12 at Castle Diamond.

Skidmore scored four runs in the first and never looked back on the way to the 9-2 win.

Brown raised his average to .424 after hitting his team-high fourth home run. Steve Gilbert was 3-4 with a two-run triple.
Shawn Klier went 2-3 with a run and two RBI and
Jeb Clarke was 2-3 with an RBI double.

Spencer Anderson (1-3) earned his first collegiate win. He went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

St. Lawrence scored three unearned runs in the top of the ninth and dodged trouble in the bottom of the ninth to earn the split.

Skidmore starter
Will Potter pitched well, going seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Brown had three RBI without a hit. One came on a ground out and two came on an 8-5 fielders choice.
Chris Lorenz was 2-4.
