AMHERST. Mass.— Amherst College downed Skidmore 19-8 in men's lacrosse action Tuesday evening at Pratt Field.
 
The Thoroughbreds are 1-2, while #4 Amherst is 2-0
 
Kevin Mulvey and Jack Curry scored two goals each for Skidmore. Will Murphy had a goal and four ground balls, while Jack McElgunn had a team-high seven ground balls.
 
Adding single goals for the Thoroughbreds were Corbin Dunn, Andrew DeStefano, and Justin Csenge.
 
Amherst scored the game's first seven goals before Csenge and Curry scored to make it 7-2. Amherst stretched the lead to 10-3 at the half.
 
Skidmore outscored the home team 4-3 in the fourth.
 
The Thoroughbreds take on Wheaton College on March 13 at 3 p.m. at Swarthmore College.
