SWARTHMORE, Pa.—The Skidmore College men's lacrosse team scored five unanswered third quarter goals on the way to a 10-6 non-league win over Wheaton College, Sunday at Swarthmore College.
 
The Thoroughbreds even their record at 2-2, while the Lyons drop their first game of the season, falling to 2-1.
 
Kevin Mulvey led Skidmore with three goals. 
Jack Curry had two goals and an assist and 
Cody Legeza had two goals. 
Eric Megnia scored a goal and had two assists, while 
Corbin Dunn and 
Justin Csenge each scored single goals.  
Will Murphy had seven ground balls and two caused turnovers, while 
Geoffrey Grant won 11 of 19 face offs.
 
Matt Morgan scored three goals for Wheaton.
 
The teams entered the second half knotted 4-4.  Skidmore quickly took over with five straight goals, including three in the first five minutes of the third quarter. Megnia, Legeza, Mulvey and consecutive goals from Curry gave the Thoroughbreds a commanding 9-4 lead going into the final 15:00.
 
The Lyons did manage two fourth quarter goals sandwiched around Dunn's goal, but Skidmore's defense prevailed behind 12 saves from 
Chris Baughan.
 
Skidmore hosts Western Connecticut on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
