POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—Vassar College scored three of the game's final four goals to post a 12-10 Liberty League men's lacrosse win over Skidmore College Saturday afternoon.
 
The loss drops the Thoroughbreds to 3-5 and 0-1 in league play, while the Brewers are 4-3 and 1-0.
 
Chris Melligon led the Thoroughbreds with his second three-goal game of the season. 
Jack Metzler and 
Cody Legeza had two goals each, while  
Kevin Mulvey had a goal and three assists. 
Jack Curry and 
Ryan Warnock scored single goals. Warnock had a team-high eight ground balls.
 
Noah Parson and James Thomas led the Vassar with three goals each.
 
The game featured four lead changes and four ties. Neither team led by more than two goals.
 
The score was tied 3-3 after one and 5-5 after two.
 
The Brewers had a 8-7 lead going into the fourth quarter and went up 9-7 on a quick goal by Patrick Gibbons at 14:13. The Thoroughbreds battled back to tied it 9-9 on goals by Curry at 13:13 and Melligon at 12:30. Vassar scored the next two goals to open it to 11-9. Mulvey scored his 24
th of the season with 2:21 to play, but Parson added an insurance goal with :32 left for the 12-10 final.
 
Chris Baughan had 11 saves in goal for the Thoroughbreds. It was his third straight game with 11 or more saves and seventh time in eight games this season.
 
Skidmore will host Bard on April 2 at 12 p.m.
