SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— Williams College parlayed a quick start into a 16-7 non-league men's lacrosse win over Skidmore College Wednesday night at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds are 3-4, while the Ephs improve to 3-2.

Cody Legeza led Skidmore with three goals.
Chris Melligon added two goals and
Kevin Mulvey had a goal and two assists.
Jack Metzler had a solo tally.Â
Will Murphy had a team-high six ground balls.

Tanner MacIvor scored five goals and had two assists for Williams. Michael Fahey added four goals, while Thomas Fowler and Duncan Cummings had two goals each. Angus O'Rourke won 18 of 22 face offs and had 13 ground balls.

The Ephs scored the game's first eight goals, including three straight by MacIvor in the final 8:50 of the first quarter.

Legeza got Skidmore on the board with 5:23 to play in the second with his ninth of the season from
Justin Csenge. MacIvor responded at 3:55 to give Williams a 9-1 lead. Metzler scored his fourth of the season at 3:21 to cut it to seven, but the Ephs added two more to take an 11-2 lead into the break.

The Thoroughbreds kept it even in the second half with Legeza and Melligon scoring two each and Mulvey registering his 23
rd of the season.

Williams had a 54-32 shot and 35-18 ground ball advantage.

Chris Baughan had another double digit save night with 16. Miles McCarthy stopped 11 shots over 55:42 for the Ephs.
