Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—Hamilton College broke open a tight game with eight straight second-half goals in an 11-6 women's lacrosse win over Skidmore College Tuesday.

The Thoroughbreds are 2-4, while the 10
th ranked Continentals move to 5-1.

Cas Szwajkowski and
Marisa Caponi scored two goals each to lead Skidmore.
Natalie LaBeau and
Tyler Phillips had one each.
Rachel Talanian had a game-high seven ground balls to go along with an assist and six caused turnovers.

Jackie Cuddy led Hamilton with three goals and an assist. Darby Philbrick added a pair of goals and three draws. Morgan Fletcher scored a goal and had three assists and Casey File had goal and four draws.

Skidmore led most of the first half, taking a 2-1 lead on goals by Phillips (25:26) and Szwajkowski (20:53). Cuddy tied it at 18:25 and the score stayed knotted until Szwajowski put the Thoroughbreds back in front, 3-2 at 10:04. Caroline McCarthy evened it at 6:15, but Skidmore worked a late shot by
Natalie LaBeau with 20 seconds left to go up 4-3 at the half.

Hamilton controlled the second half, scoring eight straight goals to open an 11-3 lead. Cuddy and Philbrick had two each in the run.Â
Marisa Caponi scored the last two for Skidmore for the 11-5 final.

The Continentals had a 25-15 edge in shots, while the Thoroughbreds had a 20-18 ground ball advantage.

Megan Kolopsky had nine saves for Skidmore, while Hanna Burrell stopped seven shots for Hamilton.

Skidmore will host Mount Holyoke on Saturday at 1 p.m.
