FT. MYERS, Fla.—The Skidmore College baseball team closed out its Florida trip with a 13-9 win over John Hopkins University Friday at Terry Park.
 
The Thoroughbreds bring a 3-5 record back to Saratoga Springs, while the Blue Jays are 7-6-1.
 
Skidmore did most of its damage early, taking a 10-4 lead into the Bottom of the fourth. Hopkins got four back in the fourth, but 
Andrew Aikins took over in the fourth, allowing just one run over the final six innings on three hits for his second win of the season. He had six strikeouts, three walks.
 
Shankar Mani was 3-5 with four runs to lead the Thoroughbreds. 
Josh Brown went 2-3, while 
Chris Lorenz was 2-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI. 
Mike LaVita was 2-4 with a double, a run and two RBI.  
Jeb Clarke was 1-4 with a run and three RBI.
 
Skidmore opens Liberty League play on March 25 at Union.
