CLERMONT, Fla.—Freshman
Cas Szwajkowski scored six goals to lead the Skidmore College women's lacrosse team to a 16-11 win over Westfield State University Tuesday at the National Training Center.

The Thoroughbreds are 2-2, while the Owls fall to 1-2. Skidmore will close out its Florida trip on March 18 against Ithaca College.

Tyler Phillips added three goals, two assists, and five ground balls for the Thoroughbreds.
Marisa Caponi scored three goals and
Gianna Muscari,
Natalie LaBeau, and
Allison Byrne each had solo goals. LaBeau added seven draw controls.
Rachel Talanian had five ground balls.

After an early Westfield goal, the Thoroughbreds scored four straight and six of the next seven on the way to a 9-4 halftime lead.

Skidmore continued to control the play, taking a 15-6 lead on a Caponi goal with 11:36 to play. The Owls did mount a minor comeback with four straight goals before Szwajkowski broke the streak with her sixth of the game with 5:47 left.
