SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College men's and women's basketball teams wrap the regular season schedule with road games Friday at Clarkson and home games Sunday vs. St. Lawrence.
Â
Sunday's home games are scheduled for 2 p.m. (women) and 4 p.m. (men). It will be Senior Day for the men with Doolun Anyam, Nick Volpe, Isaac Carp, and Eric Sanders honored in a pregame ceremony.
Â
The men (14-8, 9-5) sit atop the crowded league standings, tied with Union. A pair of wins and the Thoroughbreds will claim the regular season title and home court advantage.Â
Â
Skidmore has won four of its last five games. Standout freshman Edvinas Rupkus (16.8 points, 5.4 rebounds) and Sanders (16.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg) lead the team in scoring. Rupkus is also shooting a blistering 57.5% from the floor.
Â
Â
On the women's side, the Thoroughbreds (13-10, 7-7) need a sweep to have a shot at the league playoffs.
Kelly Donnelly continues to dominate opponents down the stretch. She has seven straight double/doubles and has averaged 26.3 points and 14.6 rebounds over that stretch.
Â
Complementing Donnelly's scoring are
Veronica Moceri (8.0 ppg) and
Amber Holgate (7.7 ppg).
