SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.— Nick Bingaman's overtime goal at 2:45 gave #7/9 Hobart a 2-1 non-league win over Skidmore College Friday night at the Saratoga Springs City Rink.

The Thoroughbreds (6-4) will host the Statesmen (7-2-1) again on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The teams traded chances over the first two periods, but both goalies came up big to keep it 0-0.

Skidmore killed off a late second period major that turned into a :40 5-on-3. Thoroughbred goalie
Jack McDonald made six of his 13 second period saves during the power play.

Hobart finally solved the McDonald early in the third when Lawson MacDougall scored his first goal of the season off a rebound at 4:54. Zach Sternbach and Julien Denicourt assisted.

Skidmore went on the power play at 17:40, pulling McDonald for a two-man advantage. Statesmen goalie Frank Oplinger turned away four Thoroughbred shots to kill off the penalty.

With time running out and McDonald on the bench, Skidmore's
Anthony Bird battled off two Hobart defenders to tie the game as the buzzer sounded to end regulation.
Quincy Gregg and
Corey Morgan assisted on the goal that was officially listed as 19:59.5.

In overtime, Bobby Sokol found an open Bingaman in the slot. Bingaman put the puck away for his seventh goal of the season.

Hobart had a 36-30 shot advantage. McDonald finished with 34 saves. Oplinger had 29 saves before leaving the game at the end of regulation with an injury. Alexander Connal didn't have to make a save in the overtime for his fourth win of the season.
