RESULTS
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Skidmore College swimming and diving teams opened up the home portion of the schedule against Liberty League foe Union on Saturday. The men fell to the Dutchmen 161-72, while the women fell to the Dutchwomen 158-76.
For the women,
Erin Donovan picked up the victory in the 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:04.11.
Meredith Wagner swam her best race in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in a personal-best 1:11:63.
For the men,
Hiro Kamei picked up the victory in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning by just 24-hundreths of a second in 1:02.44. Kamei also finished second in the 200-yard IM, swimming in 2:07.89.
The meet started with two exciting 200-yard medley relays between the teams, and both went down to the wire. The Dutchwomen won in their race by 18 hundredths of a second and the Dutchmen won by a close two hundredths of a second.
Other strong times included
Elizabeth Levy finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.29),
Bailey Best's second place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (59.03), and Gabe Salitan-Alvarez placing second in the 100-yard freestyle (51.48).
Harrison Shockley and Jason Hansen also placed second, swimming in the 100-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle, respectively.
The Thoroughbreds will host Utica College on Nov. 19.
