SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College volleyball team came from behind to beat MCLA 3-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-16, 27-25) in a non-league match, Wednesday afternoon at the Williamson Center.

It was the season opener for both teams. The Thoroughbreds will compete in the SUNY Brockport Tournament this weekend.

After dropping the first set, the Skidmore battled back to take the next two and a 2-1 lead. MCLA tried to force a fifth set by taking a 15-6 lead. The Thoroughbreds outscored the Trailblazers 16-7 to tie it 22-22. The teams traded the lead twice, but the Skidmore broke a 25-25 tie on kills by
Clara Jones and
Carolyn Lois.

Jones finished with 10 kills five assists, six digs, and two blocks. Freshman
Allie Dillon had a team-high 29 digs, while freshman setter
Sam Abrams added 24 assists and two aces.Â

Marcela Familiar had 28 digs and rookie
Caitlyn Sprinkle contributed a team-high 13 kills.
