CANTON, N.Y.— A walk off error gave the Skidmore College baseball team a 7-6 game and Liberty League series win over St. Lawrence University Sunday at Tom Fay Field.

The Thoroughbreds (11-19 and 5-13 Liberty) won three out of four games against the Saints (15-17, 6-13).

In the first game,
Nick Petrella was the hard luck loser. He went seven innings, allowing four runs (two earned on seven hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

Skidmore's lone run came in the fourth on an RBI single by
Eric Damphousse.
Nick Barra had half of his team's four hits, going 2-3.
Â
In the second game, the Thoroughbreds (playing as the home team) were down 6-5 going into the bottom of the ninth.Â
Dan Miller had a two-out RBI single to tie the game.
Shankar Mani then singled to advance Miller to third.
Â
With runners on first and third,
Mike LaVita appeared to hit the game winner down the line, but confusion with the umpires resulted in a "do-over." Â LaVita then hit a routine grounder that went through the second baseman's legs, scoring Miller from third for the win.

Damphousse was 2-4 with a home run.
Jeb Clarke went 3-4 and
Josh Brown was 2-4 with an RBI triple.
Mat Marino was 2-4 with a run.

Andrew Aikins had his best collegiate start in a no-decision. He went seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits.
Jake Dougherty got the win in two innings of relief. Â

Skidmore will host Middlebury in single game on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and then close out the regular season with a home and home series with Bard on May 2-3.
