COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—
Spencer Morgan took a perfect pass from
Tyler Phillips and found the back of the net with 1:00 to play to lead the Skidmore College lacrosse team to an 11-10 win over Pomona-Pitzer in a game played at Colorado College on Friday.
The Thoroughbreds are off to a 5-1 start. Pomona-Pitzer drops to 5-3. Skidmore returns to action March 24 at Hamilton.
Down 9-6 with 12:59 to play, Skidmore took over, scoring five of the game's final six goals for the 11-10 win.
Morgan started and finished the run to help the Thoroughbreds secure the win. She had four goals and two draw controls.
Emma Harris had a goal and an assist for Skidmore. Morgan finished with four goals, Phillips had three goals and one assist.
Paige DiAntonio contributed a goal, two ground balls, and four caused turnovers, including the CT that led to the winning goal.
Megan Kolopsky totaled eight saves in goal. Skidmore had a 20-18 edge in shots.
