th ranked Skidmore College field hockey team took control early and coasted to an 8-0 Liberty League win over St. Lawrence University, Thursday afternoon at Wagner Park.

The win was the 300
th for Thoroughbred head coach
Beth Hallenbeck, who becomes the 16
th coach in NCAA Division III history to reach the mark. Hallenbeck is 300-140-2 overall and 230-63-1 in 15 seasons at Skidmore. Prior to Skidmore, she was the head coach for 10 seasons at Rensselaer.

The Thoroughbreds took control of the game at the start with three goals in a 2:43 span early in the first half.
Dani DeGregory scored her first of three goals at 6:22 when her shot deflected off a defender.
Krista Lamoreaux made it 2-0 28 seconds later and
Grace Florsheim put Skidmore up 3-0 off a rebound at 9:05.

DeGregory made it 4-0 at 22:23 of the first when she fired a shot into the back of the cage.
Shannon Sebor assisted. Sebor scored her third of the season when she tipped in a DeGregory shot at 23:22. Â
Kayla Rose upped the lead to 6-0 from
Becca Halter at 32:13.

In the second half,
Jenn Hanks redirected a DeGregory shot past the Saint goalie for her fourth goal of the season at 40:40. Â DeGregory scored the final goal from Halter with 4:00 to play, giving her fourth hat trick of the season.

DeGregory's eight points moves her into 11
th all-time in NCAA III career points with 93 goals and 49 assists for 235 points.Â

Skidmore outshot St. Lawrence 31-5 and had a 14-2 penalty corner advantage.
Zoe McGuire and
Elizabeth Coughlin combined for the shutout. McGuire had two saves in the first 59:48 to improve to 6-1. Coughlin did not have to face a shot on goal over the final 10:12. Â

Kim Haab had six saves in the first half, while Julia Hudson stopped five shots in the second half for the Saints. Carly Dziekan had a defensive save.
