Women's basketball looks to keep rolling at Vassar/Bard

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Skidmore College women's basketball team takes its five-game winning streak on the road this weekend for a pair of conference contests. The Thoroughbreds play at Vassar on Friday night before facing Bard on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE THOROUGHBREDS (11-5, 7-0 Liberty League): Skidmore is currently riding a five-game winning streak and a seven-game conference winning streak…The Thoroughbreds topped held Union to a season-low 35 points in a 49-35 win on Friday before beating William Smith in double overtime on Saturday…Senior guard Molly McLaughlin and junior guard Lindsey Davis each hit six 3-pointers against the Herons, tying for a with 18 points apiece…McLaughlin added nine assists and seven rebounds…The team set a new program record with 18 threes in the win…Freshman guard Kelly Donnelly pulled down a career-high 16 boards against William Smith…Senior forward Angela Botiba is closing in on the 1000 point career mark with 972 points.

TEAM STATISTICS: Skidmore ranks second in Division III in defensive rebounds per game (33.1), and 21st in rebound margin (9.0) and is tied for 12th in field-goal percentage defense (31.9%)...The Thoroughbreds are 7-0 when shooting over 40% from the floor and 8-0 when shooting over 33% from three…Skidmore is 3-3 on the road.
 
STATISTICAL LEADERS: McLaughlin is 15th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage (44.3)…She is averaging 14.3 points, 6.6 assists and six rebounds per game over the last three games…Davis is averaging 13.0 points per game over the last three contests…Junior guard Amber Holgate is averaging 9.8 points per game against conference opponents.
 
  
SCOUTING THE BREWERS (7-9, 2-5 Liberty League): Vassar dropped back-to-back home conference games last weekend, falling against St. Lawrence and Clarkson…Liberty League leading scorer (18.6 ppg) had 16 points in both games…Freshman guard Ariella Rosenthal had 13 points and six rebounds against the Golden Knights and 12 points and nine boards against the Saints…Junior forward Rose Serafini had a season-high 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench against the Golden Knights.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: The Brewers are 4-3 at home this season...Vassar ranks last in the conference in 3-pointers per game (1.9)…The Brewers lead the league in offensive rebounds per game (16.4) and sit second in rebounding margin (6.6)…Vassar is 4-1 when shooting over 36% from the field…The Brewers attempted a season-high 75 field goals and 15 3-pointers in this season's first meeting with Skidmore.

SCOUTING THE RAPTORS (4-12, 0-8 Liberty League): Bard was knocked off by St. Lawrence and Clarkson at home last weekend…Junior forward Tytravia Riley was held to a season-low nine points and five rebounds against the Saints after scoring a season-high 25 points and adding 16 rebounds against the Golden Knights…Junior guard Bianka Bell had 10 points and seven rebounds against Clarkson.
 
TEAM STATISTICS: Bard has dropped 36 consecutive Liberty League contests…The Raptors average a Liberty League-low 47.8 points per game, but rank third in scoring defense (58.3 ppg)…Bard has the fewest number of free throw attempts in the conference (255)…The Raptors are 3-0 when shooting over 36% from the field.
