Women's lacrosse topped at Wesleyan

Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Skidmore College women's lacrosse team was knocked off by Wesleyan University, 11-1, Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
 
The Thoroughbreds go to 1-4 on the season, while the Cardinals move to 4-3.
 
Wesleyan opened up a 3-0 lead after 18:54 of play, but Spencer Morgan brought Skidmore back within three, netting her fifth goal of the season with 6:24 remaining in the first half. The Cardinals took control in the second half, outscoring the Thoroughbreds 7-0.
 
Wesleyan outshot Skidmore 30-13 and owned a 24-14 advantage in ground balls, while the Thoroughbreds held a 7-6 edge draw controls.
 
Freshman netminder Megan Kolopsky turned away 11 shots in 50:47 of action and Allie Sosinsky stopped both shots she faced in relief.
 
The Thoroughbreds host Hamilton College at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 25.
