Union posts 75-69 win over Skidmore

Box Score SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— Union College held on for a 75-69 Liberty League women's basketball contest over Skidmore, Friday night at the Viniar Athletic Center.
 
The Thoroughbreds (10-14, 5-10 Liberty League) finish the season at home on Saturday at 2 p.m. against RIT.  The Dutchwomen improve to 15-9 and 7-8.
 
Jordyn Wartts had a double/double with 26 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Thoroughbreds. She was a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line.  Angela Botiba also recorded a double/double with 15 points and 14 rebounds and Molly McMcLaughlin added 16 points and six assists.
 
Skidmore led by seven early, 13-6, but the Dutchwomen used a 9-0 run to erase the deficit and eventually take a 37-34 lead at the half.
 
The Thoroughbreds kept it close in the second half, tying the game twice, but Union hung on for the six-point win.
 
The Dutchwomen shot 53.4 percent from the floor, hitting 31 of 58 attempts. Skidmore was 23-65 (35.4%).
