Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College women's basketball team scored 17 points off turnovers on the way to a 57-50 non-league win over Hamilton College, Tuesday evening at the Williamson Center.

The Thoroughbreds break into the win column at 1-2, while the Continentals fall to 2-3.

Angela Botiba recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Skidmore.
Molly McLaughlin added 11 points and four assists and
Kelly Donnelly contributed nine points, three assists, and four steals.

Sam Graber led Hamilton with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Theresa Salud scored 13 points and had seven rebounds and three assists.

The Thoroughbreds got off to a slow start, allowing the Continentals to build a 16-7 lead over the first 10 minutes of the first half.  Skidmore responded with a 10-2 run, capped by a Donnelly three off her own steal, to close it to 18-17 with 6:42 to play in the half.Â

The teams traded the lead twice before the Hamilton took a 28-26 lead into the intermission.

The Thoroughbreds came out of the gate fast in the second half with an 11-0 run for a 37-28 lead. Botiba scored six of the 11 points, with McLaughlin hitting a key three.  Skidmore's defense kept Hamilton off the board until Samantha Srinivasan scored with 13:20 to play.

The Continentals did move to within two 44-42 with 8:37 left, but that was a close as the Thoroughbreds would let them get on the way to the 57-50 final.

Skidmore forced 17 turnovers, good for 17 points. The Thoroughbreds also held their opponent to 9-36 (25%) shooting from the floor in the second half. Â

Skidmore is on the road Dec. 2 at Williams College in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
