ResultsPOTSDAM, N.Y. -- The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams had a strong showing in the second meet of the season, Saturday afternoon at Potsdam.
The men notched a 117-107 win, while the women swam to a 114-114 tie.
Nick Sauerbrunn paced the men's team with three individual wins, touching first in the 1000 free (10:43.31), 500 free (5:10.86), and 100 breast (1:08.53). The team of
Carl Vanasse,
Charlie Bullis,
Robert Fulton and
Gabriel Salitan-Alvarez placed first in the 200 free relay (1:32.98). Salitan-Alvarez also picked up vital individual points, winning the 200 free (1:54.69).
Ramzy Kahhale added a win in the 100 fly (59.05), charging from nearly a body length behind on the last lap to take first by 0.22.
Jacob Nathan swept both diving events, recording an NCAA qualifying score of 277.65 in the 1-meter and scoring a 282.55 in the 3-meter event.
Catherine King and
Erin Donovan were both dual winners on the women's side. King placed first in the 50 free (25.29) and the 100 free (57.20) and Donovan won the 100 back and teamed with
Monica Abdul-Chani,
Katie Kuklewicz and
Kate Lambos for first in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:48.82.
Yookee Roh took home first in the 200 IM for the second consecutive meet and
Emily Przysinda added a first-place finish in the 500 free (5:45.03).
The Thoroughbreds go on the road to take on Vassar College at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8.
