Adam Beek netted two first-half goals to push the Skidmore College men's soccer team past Williams College, 2-1, Saturday afternoon in non-league play at Wachenheim Field.

The Thoroughbreds improve to 6-4-1, while the Ephs move to 4-4-1.

Skidmore controlled play in the first half, outshooting Williams 11-3, but the Ephs jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 2:38 into the contest. J.C. Bahr-de-Stefano collected a Thoroughbreds clearing attempt after a defensive miscommunication and lofted a 30-yard shot into an open goal to put Williams in front.

Beek struck back for Skidmore just over 11 minutes later.
Noah Weinberg broke down the right wing and delivered a cross to Beek, who brought the ball down off his chest and ripped a strike into the upper corner.

Beek put the Thoroughbreds in front in the 26th minute, slotting home a cross from
Tim Sullivan. Sullivan carried the ball down the right wing and whipped in a low service that just missed the outstretched foot of
Brock Bakewell before reaching Beek eight-yards out at the back post.

The second half was back-and-forth with both teams generating quality scoring opportunities. Williams had the upper hand in the opening stages of the half, forcing Skidmore goalkeeper
Eli Kisselbach to make three early saves. The Thoroughbreds picked up the pressure and nearly doubled their lead in the 67th minute, but Williams goalkeeper Christian Alcorn went full stretch to deny
Tim Sullivan's curling strike from 25 yards.

The Ephs pressed late and came close again in the final minute, but Mark Sisco-Tolmeo's headed effort sailed over the bar, sealing the 2-1 win for Skimore.

Kisselbach finished with five saves, earning his fifth win of the season. Bobby Schneidman made two saves in 60:25 of action, while Alcorn mdae one save in 29:35 of relief. The Thoroughbreds outshot the Ephs 21-13, while corners were even at four apiece.
