SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - This weekend boasts a full docket of action as The Skidmore men's and women's basketball teams vie for playoff positioning. This weekend's home events will also be an opportunity to recognize the seniors and their contributions.
Women's basketball (12-11, 10-4 Liberty League) seeks to improve its positioning in the coming Liberty League playoffs and will host top-seeded Vassar College (19-4, 11-3) Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Williamson Center. The Thoroughbreds defeated Vassar earlier in the season on Brewer's home court, 69-54. Skidmore looks to rebound after losing to Clarkson Tuesday night 61-55.
Saturday, the Thoroughbreds travel to RPI (13-10, 7-7) looking to complete the season-sweep after defeating the Engineers 80-66 on Jan. 25. The 80-point explosion marks Skidmore's highest point total of the season. The Thoroughbreds are led by
Angela Botiba's 9.5 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per contest.

Men's basketball (14-9, 8-6 Liberty League) hosts Vassar College Friday night at 8 p.m. before traveling to RPI for a 4 p.m. contest Saturday. The Thoroughbreds are currently in a playoff race, as one of three teams trying to earn the final two remaining playoff seeds. Currently Skidmore sits in a three-way tie with Clarkson and RPI, making Saturday's contest all the more important. Skidmore defeated RPI earlier in the season 81-74.
Skidmore is led by five-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Aldin Medunjanin with 14.8 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per contest. Tanner Brooks, a four-time Rookie of the Week, ranks second with 14.2 points per game.
