Box Score Rochester, N.Y.--An RIT basket with :20 seconds to play in regulation proved to the game winner as the Tigers (6-12, 3-7 Liberty league) beat Skidmore College (11-9, 9-2 Liberty league) 64-62 in Liberty League action Friday night. The win by RIT snaps a seven game winning streak by the Thoroughbreds who came into Friday first in the conference standings.
Leslie Havens drove the lane with time winding down in regulation, laying the ball in to give RIT a two-point lead. After a Skidmore timeout,
Skylar Caligaris went to inbounds the ball, but
Jess Kramer intercepted the pass and fell on the ball to help secure the win for the Tigers.
Angela Botiba led Skidmore with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jordyn Wartis added 13 points and seven rebounds who had a seven game winning streak snapped.
Kayla Wheeler led RIT with 15 points, while
Courtney Tennant added 13 points for the Tigers who move to 3-7 in conference play.
RIT shot 46.3 percent from the floor on 25-of-54 shooting. The Tigers were 5-of-15 from behind the arc and made 9-of-13 foul shots.
Skidmore held a 44-29 rebounding edge, shooting 37.5 percent from the floor for the game.
