SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY -- The Skidmore College men and women's swimming and diving teams hosted Vassar College, Saturday at the Williamson Sports Center.
 
The men's team suffered another heartbreaking defeat, with the meet coming down to the 400 Free Relay, falling 148-144, while the women's team, which conceded 36 points for not having any female divers available to compete, was beat 164-130.
 
For the men, Nick Sauerbrunn earned two top finishes, placing first in the 200 Free (1:55.82) and 500 Free (5:22.13) for the second time in three meets. Peter Quattromani won the 1000 Free (10:59.76) and teamed with Sauerbrunn, Tim Brodsky and Lyle Stephenson for a second place finish in the 400 Free Relay (3.27.97), finishing 0.88 seconds out of first. Stephenson also placed first in the 200 Back (2:07.35) and combined with Jon Markowitz, Bailey Best and Charlie Bullis for second in the 200 Medley Relay (1:44.10).
 
Tommy Heidebrecht was the meet's top diver, placing first in both events with a 1 meter score of 210.00 and 3 meter score of 222.30.
 
On the women's side, Catherine King was triple winner, placing first in the 50 Free (24.87) and 100 Free (56.64), and teaming with Yookee Roh, Katherine Kelloway and Kate Lambos for a first place finish in the 400 Free Relay (3:49.81). Roh also placed first in the 200 Free (2:03.67) and Emily Przysinda won the 500 Free (5:34.71) for the second-straight meet.
 
Reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Week Erin Donovan earned first place finishes in both backstrokes, winning the 100 (1:03.60) and 200 (2:19.30) for the second time in as many meets.
 
The Thoroughbreds travel to Oneonta St. Friday, Nov. 15, with the meet beginning at 5 p.m.
