SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY --Â The Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams split with St. Lawrence in the opening meet of the season, Friday at the Williamson Sports Center.

The men came away with a 134-90 victory, while the women suffered a 137.5-93.5 loss.

On the men's side
Bailey Best was the top finisher in three events, winning the 200 IM (2:13.09) and 100 Fly (1:00.45), and teaming with
Lyle Stephenson,
Jon Markowitz and
Charlie Bullis to win the 200 Medley Relay (1:43.87). Stephenson also placed first in the 100 Back (59.09), and Markowitz was a first place finisher in the 100 Breast (1:07.08).

Nick Sauerbrunn was another dual-winner for the Thoroughbreds, winning the 200 Free (1:53.89) and finishing first in the 500 Free (5:18.46).

Tim Brodsky and
Peter Quattromani each recorded multiple wins, as Brodsky won the 50 Free (23.51) Quattromani won the 1000 Free (10:49.04), and the two paired with
Taylor Best and Bullis for the fastest time in the 200 Free Relay (1:34.78).

For the women,
Catherine King was a triple winner, winning the 50 Free (24.88), 100 Free (55.66) and anchoring the 200 Free Relay (1:45.07), combining with
Yookee Roh,
Kate Lambos and
Katherine Kelloway. Â

Roh won the 200 IM (2:18.29) and
Erin Donovan placed first in the 100 Back (1:03.40). Kelloway placed one spot behind her teammates in both events, placing second in the 200 IM (2:21.52) and the 100 Back (1:05.66).
