Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College men's and women's basketball teams open Liberty League play at home Friday night against Bard College and Saturday afternoon against William Smith and Hobart.
 
Friday's games start with the women at 6 p.m., followed by the men's game at 8 p.m.  Saturday's games are at women at 2 p.m. and men at 4 p.m.

The women's team is 2-7 after a challenging non-conference schedule.  Angela Botiba leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 8.4 points and 7.2 boards per game.  Freshman Skylar Caligaris is adding 7.4 points. 
 
The two-time defending Liberty League champion men's team is 6-3 after the non-league slate.  Connor Merrill is scoring 15.7 points and pulling down a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game. He also has a league-high 3.1 blocks per game.  Aldin Medunjanin is contributing 15.4 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game.
