Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y. -- The Liberty League leading Skidmore College women's basketball team won its seventh straight game, 50-37 over Union College, Saturday at the Williamson Center.
The Thoroughbreds lead the Liberty League with a 9-1 league record and 11-8 overall mark. The Dutchwomen fall to 6-5 and 11-8.
Skylar Caligaris led the Thoroughbreds with 15 points on five three-pointers.
Angela Botiba added 13 points and eight
rebounds, while
Logan Frederick contributed 11 rebounds, two points, and four assists.
Jordyn Wartts had nine points, four steals, and three assists.
Kristin Schmidt led Union with eight points. Kate Thompson had 10 rebounds, four points, two assists, and two blocks.
Skidmore scored the final six points of the first half on threes from
Dani DeGregory and Caligaris to take a 26-20 lead into the break.
Caligaris hit a three to open the second half scoring and give the Thoroughbreds control of the game. Skidmore would lead by as many as 15 before the 50-37 final.
It was the third time this season the Thoroughbred defense has held a team under 40 points and the seventh time under 50.
Skidmore is at RIT on Feb. 1 for a 6 p.m. game. Union will host RIT on Jan. 29 at 6 p.m.
