Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College women's basketball team continued its hot play with a 58-45 Liberty League win over Clarkson University, Tuesday at the Williamson Center.
The Thoroughbreds have won five straight and seven of their last eight to improve to 7-1 in league play and 9-8 overall. The Golden Knights are 0-8 and 2-14.
It's the fourth time this season Skidmore has held an opponent to less than 50 points. The Thoroughbred defense scored 24 points off 17 Clarkson turnovers.
Angela Botiba led a deep Skidmore lineup with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Logan Frederick added eight points and three assists, and three steals. The Thoroughbred bench outscored Clarkson 26-2.
Leighann Tomita had a game-high 18 points for the Golden Knights and Ashley Loggins chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds.
Skidmore used a 23-9 run to close the first half to with a 30-19.
The Golden Knights were within five, 46-41 with 8:03 to play in the game, but the Thoroughbreds held Clarkson without a point for nearly five minutes and to just four points the rest of the game for the 58-45 win.
Skidmore will host Rensselaer on Friday at 6 p.m.
