Box Score Schenectady, N.Y.—Freshman guard
Dani DeGregory scored a career high 20 points off the bench to lead the Skidmore College women's basketball team to a 55-52 Liberty League road win over Union College, Friday.
The win snaps a seven-game Dutchwomen win streak, falling to 4-1 in the Liberty League and 8-4 overall. The
Thoroughbreds improve to 3-1 in league play and 5-8 overall.
Also for Skidmore,
Skylar Caligaris had 12 points with
Angela Botiba adding 11. Botiba and
Logan Frederick each had eight rebounds.
The Thoroughbred defense held Union to just 31% shooting for the night.
Union had a 32-28 lead at the half. The Dutchwomen opened the second half on a 9-2 run for an 11 point advantage, 41-30 with 16:19 left after consecutive three-pointers. Union also led by 11 after a layup made it 45-34 with 10:14 left in the second half. But Skidmore took the lead for the first time since a 3-0 score in the first half. DeGregory scored a three pointer with 5:35 left for a 48-47 lead for the guests, capping a 14-2 run in 4:39. Skidmore went up by eight with 1:02 left on another three by DeGregory, and held on for the 55-52 final.
The Thoroughbreds host RIT on Saturday at 2 p.m.
