Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – 11 different players scored as the Skidmore College women's basketball team cruised to a 71-21 victory over Bard in Friday night's Liberty League matchup at the Williamson Sports Center.
The Thoroughbreds improve to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in league play, while the Raptors fall to 1-10 overall and 0-2 league.
Skidmore opened with a three from
Megan Gaugler and never looked back, opening the game on a 23-3 run and leading 39-13 at half. In the second half it was much of the same, outscoring Bard 32-8 in the final stanza to pick up a 71-21 victory.
The Thoroughbred defense held the Raptors to 22% shooting and converted 31 Bard turnovers into 33 points. Skidmore tallied 26 assists on 30 made shots as the bench finished with 35 points, led by nine from freshman
Angela Botiba.
Christina Gargiso led the Thoroughbreds with 14 points, while Gaugler finished with 11 and seven rebounds.
Molly Gile recorded seven points and six rebounds and
Hailee Minor had six assists and five steals.
Jordyn Wartts dished out a game-high seven assists.
Joanna Regan led the Raptors with 10 points and six steals. Liz Freud and Victoria Fleisher each grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
Skidmore resumes play tomorrow, when they travel to RPI for a 2 p.m. tip.
