The first half was low scoring with Hamilton holding a slim 2-1 lead at the break. Libby Schultz put the Continentals on the board first at the 20:50 mark. A few minutes later, Skidmore goalie Rachel Klein came up with a big save, setting up a fast break for the Thoroughbreds in which Robin Fetterolf tied it up on her 14th goal of the year off a pass from Lindsay Stavola. With just over four minutes remaining in the half Rachel Friedman gave Hamilton the lead on her 62nd goal of the year.

In the second half, the teams started out by trading blows answering one goal for another to make it 4-4 as Stavola, Lexi Melville and Segalas all scored for Skidmore. Then, then Continentals went on a run, scoring four unanswered goals over a four minute stretch to take a 8-4 lead. The Thoroughbreds made it 8-5 on Segalas' second of the day but Hamilton came back with two more to make it 10-5. Segalas added two more in the final minute to bring it within three, but the Continentals held on for the 10-7 win and a berth in the Liberty League Championship.

Klein finished with six saves in goal for Skidmore to go along with four ground balls.  Leslie Stebbins also had four ground balls and Ali Evans had two caused turnovers.  Segalas finished with a game-high four goals, while Stavola had a goal and two assists to give her 84 points on the season, extending her single-season record.

Skidmore, making its first tournament appearance since 2006, finished the season with a 10-7 overall record.
