Rochester, N.Y.-- The University of Rochester swept Skidmore 8-0, 3-0 in Liberty League softball action on Friday.

It was the Liberty League opener for both teams. Rochester is 19-11 overall, 2-0 in Liberty League play. Skidmore is 10-12, 0-2.

The Yellowjackets produced 12 hits in game one and nine hits in game two.

Madeline Skellie scattered three hits with no walks and five strikeouts to get the complete-game win in game one. Sara Hutchinson scattered four hits, walked one, and struck out four in the second game.

For Skidmore, Sara Crose allowed 12 hits, eight runs (seven earned), walked three and struck out three in game one. Christina Gargiso, Charlotte Evans, and Molly Canavan had the base hits for the Thoroughbreds.

Abby Fuhrman took the game two loss. She allowed nine hits, three runs (all earned), walked one, and struck out six. Gargiso was 2-for-3. Evans and Lauren Bernstein each had single hits.
