The Skidmore College men's and women's basketball teams will open their 2011-2012 campaigns, Tuesday night at the Williamson Sports Center.

The women will play host to Sage at 6 p.m., followed by the men at 8 p.m., who will take on Cobleskill.

The women posted a 12-12 record last season and return its top six scorers led by senior Megan Gaugler.  Last year, the Thoroughbreds posted a 62-53 victory over the Gators in the season opener in Albany.

On the men's side, Skidmore is coming off its first Liberty League championship and will unveil its championship banner prior to the game.  The Thoroughbreds return 12 players from last year's squad including First Team All-League selection Gerard O'Shea and last year's leading scorer and rebounder, Melvis Langyintuo.  The Thoroughbreds opened last season with a 79-72 win at Cobleskill.
