Nassau, Bahamas - The Skidmore College women's basketball defeated Colby-Sawyer, 58-40, in the final game of the 2011 Bahamas Goombay Shootout, Wendesday at the Kendal Isaacs National Gymnasium.
The Thoroughbreds improve to 4-5, while the Chargers fall to 4-6.
Logan Frederick led the way for the Skidmore, scoring 18 points to go with six rebounds. Megan Gaugler added eight points and six rebounds as both players were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Colby-Sawyer held a 19-17 lead at the half but the second half belonged to the Thoroughbreds, outscoring the Chargers 41-21.
Skidmore opened up the second half on a 13-4 run highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from freshman Michela Ottati as the Thoroughbreds took their final lead of the game for a 58-40 win.
Skidmore outrebounded the Chargers, 42-27 while shooting 40.7% from the floor and 42.1% from beyond the arc.
The Thoroughbreds return to action on Saturday at Middlebury.
