Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – Six different players scored in double figures as the Skidmore College women's basketball team rolled to an easy 89-37 win over Hartwick, Tuesday night at the Williamson Sports Center.
The Thoroughbreds improve to 2-2, while the Hawks fall to 3-2.
The Thoroughbreds were in control from the start as they took a 50-20 lead into the half. They shot 53% from the floor (16-30) and 59% from the three point line (7-13). The Skidmore defense put pressure on Hartwick throughout the first half as the Thoroughbreds scored 26 points off turnovers in the half.
The second half was more of the same as the Thoroughbreds shot 65% from the field in the second game and continued with the defensive pressure, holding the Hawks to just 17 second half points.
Skidmore's bench outscored Hartwick's, 53-19 and the Thoroughbreds scored 36 points off turnovers to just six points from the Hawks.
Tracey Koch had eight points for Hartwick and Katrina Caulfield chipped in with seven points and 11 rebounds.
Skidmore returns to action this weekend at the Williams Classic.
