Swimming sweep of Utica

Saratoga Springs, N.Y.— It was a sweep for the Skidmore College men's and women's swimming and diving teams, Saturday afternoon at Williamson Sports Center. The women beat Utica 130-88, while the men posted a 130-99 win.

The women's 200 Medley Relay team of Lindsay Tucker, Kelsey Carson, Sarah Shaw and Carrie Koch opened the meet with an impressive win in 2:04.71.

Both team showed strength in the distance events with Katherine Kelloway winning the 1000 Free (11:31.44) and Shaw winning the 500 Free (5:41.09). Peter Quattromani won both the 1000 Free (11:04.35) and 500 Free (5:23.05) on the men's side. Shaw also won the 200 Free 2:08.40 and Kelloway won the 50 Free (27.30) and 100 Back (1:06.

Koch was also a double winner in the 200 IM (2:21.58) and 100 Free (58.39). Jesse Adler won both the 200 IM (2:11.81) and the 100 Back (1:00.02) and Stephen Lento won the 200 Free (1:53.95) and the 100 Breast (1:08.56).

Adding individual event victories were Kyle Bessa-McManus in the 50 Free (24.32), Lindsay Tucker in the 100 Breast (1:19.69), Kelsey Carson in the 100 Fly (1:07.76), and Sam Leibenhaut in the 100 Fly (58.08).

The Thoroughbreds will close out the first semester at the Liberty League Championships, Dec. 3-4 at Union.
