Amherst, Mass.-- Amherst College snapped a three-game Skidmore women's lacrosse win streak, 13-6. The Thoroughbreds are 3-2, while Amherst improves to 4-2.

Amherst jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead over the first 15 minutes of the game. Skidmore responded with a three consecutive goals to end the first half trailing just 5-3. After Abbie Klaus scooped up and dumped a ground ball past Amherst goalie Lamia Harik (Rye Brook, NY) with 11:58 to play in the first half, Skidmore got two straight goals from Lauren McCarthy to end the stanza.

Amherst scored three of the first four goals of the second half to break the game open.

Skidmore saw six different players score their goals, while Courtney DeStefano made 10 saves in net for the Thoroughbreds.  Amber Kinsey had a strong game on defense for Skidmore, holding Amherst's top scorer to only one goal. 

The Thoroughbreds are at Smith College on March 31.
