Women’s basketball a perfect 6-0 with road win over Potsdam

Potsdam, N.Y.-- The Skidmore College women's basketball team remained unbeaten with an easy  52-38 road rout of SUNY Potsdam, Tuesday night.

The Thoroughbreds are 6-0, while the Bears fall to 1-6. Skidmore will look to make it 7-0 Wednesday night, when the team closes out the semester at St. Joseph's of Vermont.

Amber Kinsey (Troy/Lansingburgh) had 11 points to lead the Thoroughbreds.

Skidmore jumped out to a big 17-2 lead to start the game. The Bears would storm back and go on a 17-0 run and take a 19-17 lead with 4:23 to play in the half. Skidmore had a one point lead with 43 seconds left but Potsdam made two straight baskets to take a 29-27 halftime lead.

After the teams traded baskets to start the half, Skidmore went on a 14-2 covering just over six minutes to regain the lead and go up 46-35 with 6:24 left to play in the game. It was as close as the Bears could get as the Thoroughbreds went 7-2 the rest of the way to secure the victory.
