Winooski, Vt.-- The Skidmore College women's swimming and diving team lost a heartbreaking one-point 119-118 meet at St. Michael's College on Saturday, while the men dropped a 168-71 decision.
The women dominated the sprint races with
Heather Friedman (26.87) and
Suzanna Lourie (27.81) going 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle and
Sonia Segal-Smith (58.22) and Friedman (59.01) taking first and second in the 100 free. Segal-Smith also won the 200 IM (2:21.90) and took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.12).
Carrie Koch won the 200 free (2:07.82), while
Kelsey Carson contributed a first in the 100 butterfly (1:05.19) and third place finishes in the 500 free (5:44.56) and 200 IM (2:23.87).
Diver
Doug Pilawa was a double winner for the men, taking first both 1-meter events with a score of 164.05 in the voluntaries and 248.30 in the optionals. His combined score of 412.35 breaks the Skidmore 11-dive record.
Sam Leibenhaut had a strong second place in the 100 fly (59.26).
Jesse Adler was second in the 500 free (5:31.90) and J.T. Norton just missed in the 100 breast, taking second in 1:07.31.
The teams are at Utica College on Nov. 21.
